JENNY'S DIORAMA: "BARBIES IN HELL"

The shocking value of headless Barbies
posed about this cardboard landscape
describes this artist's vision partly.
Tableau of doll parts, play-doh, tape

Beneath a violent tempura backdrop
swirling black, magenta clouds,
a silver cooking foil catwalk
on which our girls strut for the crowds.

Fashion model outfits glisten
underneath the red heat lamp.
Pantsuits, dresses, (no hats this season)
arrayed along this shiny ramp.

And glued into the rows down under
with troll dolls, Flintstones, Pez dispensers
the Barbie's heads cry up in wonder
to bodies that will never listen.
